Camping night number two was a little uncomfortable, I really wish I would have brought the Therma-Rest, but I'm managing. It rained most of the night and we actually slept in a little later than we expected. After making a few calls to book some places to stay in Bergen we boarded one of the most famous tourist attractions in Norway, The Flamsbana railway. Traveling 20 KM through 20 tunnels up to the city of Mydral on the Hardangervidda plateau, it is quite an engineering wonder that really cannot be explained, only experienced. Some of the views were quite breathtaking as I'm sure you'll see in the pictures. Many people take the train all the way up and then board another one to Bergen or just take the train back down, but Ashley thought it would be cool to hike the 20 K back through the Flamsdalen Valley to our campsite. It was a long hike through some small villages finishing off at the Flam church in Hareina and then onto Flam. We've seen a good many waterfalls at this point but I honestly think that our site for lunch near the base of the Rojandesefossen waterfall was by far the most beautiful so far. I've been asking Ash how this compares to New Zealand (she did study abroad in Australia and traveled around much of Asia during undergrad at U of M BOOOOOO) and for the most part, Norway has held its own. This view however really eclipsed just about anything you can see anywhere...

Well we are back in Flam for the night so we bid you adieu. Tomorrow we are planning on driving the 45 KM on the Snovegen Road (Snow Road) back to Laerdal to spend the day and then will be taking a car ferry through what many say is the most beautiful (and narrow) fjord, the Naeroyfjorden to the village of Gundvagen.

Catch ya on the flip side,
