After another healthy Smorgasbord we taxied out to Volvo again to finalize and pick up the car. They made it as painless as possible and we quickly headed out on the E6 north towards Oslo to the small town of Stromstad.

Along the drive Ashley pointed out how much Sweden seemed to look like northern Ontario where she went to camp...so for all of you Canuks, take note of that comparison.

Stromstad is a quant little town that looked a bit like Harbor Springs or Petoskey. With some help from the tourist office we found a nice place to camp about 10 miles away from the center of town. We spent the afternoon out on the Koster Islands, Sweden's most western inhabited islands (population 300). We hiked for a few hours out to some rock formations along the western coast of the islands. The maps made the place look at bit larger than it actually was, so it didn't take us long. We sat an enjoyed the sun for a few hours before realizing that we missed the ferry we should have gone on and thus had to wait three more hours for the last one of the day.

Sadly, although beautiful, the Koster's don't have much going on and we were caught without eats or toilets...needless to say we had to do a little searching for the latter and came up short on the food except for some packed Clif bars and Smarties.

We arrived back in Stromstad around 8ish and hit the grocery for some car food and had some pizza for dinner. We set up shop at our campsite and sat in the car and planned some of the upcoming days.

Tomorrow we head off to Flam in Norway...more to come soon.

Catch ya on the flip side,
