Where I stayed
After leaving the boat in Marmaris, I was lucky enough to spend one more night on the boat under the stars, with the gracious captain and his crew. I had a great tour of Marmaris on the back of a motorbike and am very grateful to my hosts.
I took a trip up to Ephesus and in the scorching heat, took a tour of the ancient Greek city. I made my way to the Izmir airport and flew to Ankara (the capital of the country) without incident. Instead of taking the overnight bus, I found a hotel and slept a well needed sleep in Ankara.
The next morning I met a very nice Turk who helped me buy my bus ticket and negiotate my way around the Ankara bus station.
I again was lucky on the bus because my seatmate works in Goreme (the tourist capital of Cappadocia) and she made all my arrangements (at a nice percentage off) over the phone on the way to Goreme. I was set up with a nice hotel with a pool (see picture), a hot air balloon ride, a tour of Nemrut and multiple tours of Goreme and Cappadocia.
Need to eat dinner now, will write more later.

So fun - I've always wanted to take a balloon ride!
It sounds like you're meeting people as open to adventure and beauty as you are. That's terrific.
You sound so happy. what is couch surfing? Love, Penny
