Our last 5 nights in Tel Aviv have been nothing but excitement, drama and have been a great way to end our two weeks in Israel.
One day we drove to Ceasarea, an old Roman city by the ocean with ruins of castles, ports and coliseums. We met a friend from home and had a fantastic lunch by the water.
We came home to a water crisis which involved a whole lot of mass confusion. The players in this ordeal were the other tenants in our building, our reluctant landlord, the staff at his office, the official "office of the water department", threats of canceling our rent payment and potentially moving to a hotel and even finding inventive ways to use the bathroom without running water.
After the crisis was miraculously resolved, we were able to resume the breakneck speed of our tour of this country. The next day we walked to Yafo (Jaffa), the first port in the world and we toured a fantastic museum as well as visited a vintage Israeli poster store. I also got a chance to visit with a friend that I had not seen since the last time I was in Israel in 1994.
In the past two days, we've done pilates and yoga classes, laundry, visited the museum of Independence, the home of Ben Gurion and enjoyed the Tel Aviv beaches.
This first leg of my trip was been unforgettable, and I hope you all have enjoyed the fun and stories with us!
