Where I stayed
Budget Beach Resort
We spent most of the five days here horizontal sunbathing, swimming, snorkelling and of course sleeping. We stayed in a place called Budget Beach Resort in Teluk Nipah. This aircon, immaculate bungalow is less than 50 metres from the beach and has been a peaceful retreat after Kuala Lumpur.
Pangkor island is beautiful, only 8 square kms with a lush jungle interior and white sandy beaches scattered all around the fringes. We have seen eagles, hornbills, monkeys and iguanas. Marja even claims to have seen a whale while on a very early morning beach walk (which is now getting the locals talking as no-one has ever seen a whale in these parts before). I reckon she has had a little too much sun.
All in all the time in Malaysia has been wonderful and although we only travelled round a couple hundred kms, we've been so surprised at how green and beautiful Malaysia is. The time here has deffinately been like a holiday before the serious travelling starts in China.
Unfortunately we haven't managed to upload any photos yet, but will do asap.
