The boarder crossing to BiH took around two hours due to the guy who sells the van insurance had to drive from Foca, the nearest town while we waited in no mans land in the scroching midday heat. When the guy finally arrived we discovered he wanted 60 euros for the insurance instead of the official 30 euro insurance but without having much choice we paid it. I complained and said Its disgusting! to the border officials and the insurance guy with which one of them replied 30 euro in Sarajevo but 60 euro here then smiled. At least we got the passports stamped and we have insurance cover. The single asphalt road with passing places took us to the nearby town of Foca. This is where we first sampled the traditional food called zeljanica, cheese and spinach wrapped in pastry served hot accompanied with youghurt for a drink...delicious. Followed by chocolate doughnuts all for 6KM (3euros). Cheapest country so far for eating out. The fuel price is oretty much the same as every other country we're driven through. Next stop was Sutjeska NP where we camped for the night and enjoyed wonderful mountain views and peace n quiet. Not much walking though as both of us are a little worn out from the extensive hiking in Montenegro. Our alarm clock for the next morning was bell wearing cows grazing outside the van. The drive from here to Mostar is amazingly beautiful and Mostar Old Town is picture perfect. It's hard to believe that this place was almost flattened in the recent war. Remembering the tv footage and looking at the photos from during the war in the local museum you can see the extensive and hard work that has gone into restoring this place. However on the back streets there are buildings that are ruined and derilict, all riddled with bullet holes. Our drive to Sarajevo is also beautiful along the Neretva River with a short stop in a peaceful medieval village in the mountains called Kresevo. To be continued...
