After the caves we headed down to a place called Cape Lavender in Wilyabrup where I was told there were lavender farms which to be honest I didn't see but amongst all the wineries it was nice to see something different and also the dog that came to greet us loved nipping at people and have a little bite of my arm but it was my friend that got the worst deal as the doggy made marks on his hands and then was later told the dog was deaf so when we told it to let go we then understood why it didn't play ball. The lavender cape itself was a nice little thing and smelt lovely but after the brief encounter we headed to the Margaret River Chocolate factory where we helped ourselves to the pastilles that taste absolutely divine and to the winery at the end of the day before they closed at 5.
At this point we thought it would be a good idea to find a hostel for the next couple of nights as I had booked a wine tour for the next day so no need for any drunk driving and ended up at the Margaret River Lodge were initially we went through town which looks like a lively place with most things that people need and for a moment it felt like de ja vu when there was no reception but this time it was before 8 and we waited until the guy came back from a break and as YHA members got a little discount on the rooms and checked in. For dinner we went to settlers tavern which is a nice little pub and had quite a decent chicken burger before heading off to the hostel to have a couple of glasses of our earlier purchases before turning the light off for the night.
