As I had not seen the city since being in Perth the farmers asked if I would like to go and check the sights out. The city itself is a wonderful place and has the feel of a country town rather than the largest city in a state that is a whole third of the country.

Perth felt very much like a tourist destination in Europe rather than Australia which was actually quite a refreshing thing ti see. I figured out the CAT (Central Area Transit System) and took a ride on one of the routes and will be sure to take the opportunity to go on the others. I walked down Barrack Street to see the Swan Bell Tower (No pic as I need my actual camera for that) and viewed the Perth skyline from there. Of course not as big or prominent as other bigger cities of the world but its a skyline nonetheless which is nice to look at.

I have to admit the only reason I found myself there was I saw a bar called the Lucky Shag and had to go take a picture off it!

I proceeded to go to the city centre to familiarise myself with the maps I had in my guide book and found the visitors information desk where there was a free city walking tour and this was something that made life a bit easier to get around the city and we were shown one of the oldest supermarkets in town. I actually had to duck out the tour as I was meeting up with a friend who was very kind to take me on a short drive to Swanbourne beach and thats where I first had a look at the Indian Ocean from Oz...have to say it was beautiful and helped that the sun was out shining on the white sands below us. I can see why people prefer the beaches in WA than those of Sydney. We had lunch overlooking this fine view and caught up and then it was time to head back off to the farm.
