Although I speak to a fair few people back home on a regular basis it was difficult to see my hometown, my dearly beloved London being burnt by mindless fools who are looking out for a quick opportunity to sell knock off goods on the black market.

Ok its not news to anyone in London and the UK for that matter that there are issues with the police and most governmental owned departments but to use the excuse of one man to create such destruction is heart breaking.

This is the city to hold the Olympics next year...doesn't bode well when things like this happen.

Living so close to Ealing and even having been to the shops there to see they've gone is stomach crunching to say the least and also the same for places I've seen in Tottenham, Birmingham and Manchester.

My wish is that they get banged up and sent to Kabul then they can show how hard they all are.

I try to keep up with the news with my sky news app but this was the first time I had to resort to watching it live as the coverage in Australia (and understandably so) was not so great for me to keep an eye nearer to home. I understand there was nothing I would be able to do but to know my family and friends are ok is the main thing for me.

I feel ashamed to defend London when such an atrocity has happened in what is a polite and kind society and to see such videos as this: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-14485490 are simply shocking and disgusting to watch.

I hope that the people all come to together and catch and identify the thugs and make London a safer place once again.
