For a very cheap train train and free entrance a trip to the Batu Caves is very worthwhile. They are located on the outskirts of KL. In my opinion the caves are a definite must see while in KL just to either see the golden structure of Lord Murugan or of Hanuman, the stairs that leads into caves which house further temples or just the caves themselves as they are a great structure to see.

For me it had a bit more of a special reason for me to spend just about half a day there as I follow the Hindu religion, it was fascinating for me to see such a shrine to God (especially it being outside India) and be able to see others enjoy the attraction.

The stairs however, I did not like! Since I stopped training back in November and putting on weight since last July, it did not help when I had to climb the 272 steps to the top to get through the caves...it may not seem that big of a number but you try it in 35 degree heat and without stopping for a rest...bet you a tenner you can't do it in one go!

There were a few Indian restaurants around so no chance to miss Indian food just yet as I got some masala 'thosai's' as they called them in KL.
