After staying in Tokyo for almost two weeks now, we figured it was time to leave the big city and go to Yokohama! Yokohama is the second biggest city in Japan and is very close to Tokyo. You don't even feel like you've left the city. :)

We left for Yokohama around 14:00 and arrived there a short hour later. Yokohama is a pretty big station, so I had to look around to find my bearing. We exited the station and walked for about half an hour, stopping at a convenience store to get some food. We kept on walking and walking and after about half an hour more, we reached Minato Mirai 21, the amusement park near Yokohama pier. Jordy, Kimberley and I decided to go into the rollercoaster, which I thought was awesome, but scary as well seeing as it was my first time in a rollercoaster since years and I have this fear of heights and stuff.

After looking around there a bit, the three of us decide to go to Osanbashi pier, while Brenda and Chris decide they wanted to go to a hotspring.

Osanbashi pier is the oldest pier in Yokohama, constructed between 1889 and 1896. It was reconstructed a couple of years ago and now one of Japan's major cruise ships is permanently docked there after it's retirement. It's fun to go up the pier and relax in the sunlight, seeing as the pier is pretty high and gives you a nice view of Minato Mirai and the rest of Yokohama. We spent quite some time there, just relaxing in the sunlight, drinking some drinks and watching the view.

Seeing as we had to meet up with the rest around 8, we decided to go see Yokohama's Chinatown. It's the biggest Chinatown of Japan, so naturally, we had to visit. :) The moment we arrive, Chinatown is marked by this HUGE elaborately decorated gate which we went through and all of the sudden, we're in China. Chinese stores everywhere, Chinese food everywhere, Chinese people everywhere!

We took a look around the area, saw several shops with Hello Kityy dressed up in a Chinese outfit (I swear, that kitty can do EVERYTHING), some hilarious plastic foods. I bought a Starbucks cup from Yokohama (yay!) and we sat down in one of the cafés to have a drink and watch people go by. Eventually it was time for us to meet the others again, so we made our way to Sakuragichou station by following the tracks.

All in all, it was a fabulous day in Yokohama. <3

It's nice to see a little variety. Not just snapshots of my back; also a little side boob.
