Hi Guys/Gals,
And so we marched (or flew rather) onto Australia...
We were based in Perth at Jay's cousin/hubby this time. We landed on 11th and had a week to see what we could. We spent the first few days with family, just chilling, honing my fussball skills(10/10) with their kids and trying to get some much needed exercise(2/10).
Needless to say I'm enjoying the trip, I have reached double figures... now weighing 10 stone..yikes...!
Onto Perth, lovely, hot ...very hot...too hot! We spent a day at the beach, had some delicious shark and chips (thanks Au/Jit!) courtesy of our hosts' own chippy!
We also, went on a long, long 4 day tour to a place called Monkey Mia ... to see... Dolphins...don't ask me where the name came from...Australians! Out Guide was a very knoledgeable guy hailing all the way from ... Oldham...yes an expat! We also did some sandboarding (I have evidence!) - basically going down sand dunes on a snowboard. That makes sense, right? The hardest part was getting back up the sand dune afterwards! We stayed at a nice "intimate" hostel (with an ensuite and 4 fellow travellers), although our American US Army friend did his best to disturb us just kidding Mark!)
We also took some amazing photos, tried abseiling (well, I kind of spun round all the way down without touching the cliff!); played drinking games with our compadres on the trip on the beach under a full moon - Jim (nudey nudey), phil (craby craby), mark (snorey snorey) and Susan (kinky kinky)...don't ask where the names came from ...it's just too long a story..! During that night we came within feet of wild dolphins coming upto the shore...amazing. Added to that, a catamaran trip, bbq on the beach, kangaroo spotting at night and loads of great "tucker" served up by Paul the guide. Highly recommended!
Anyway, back to Perth - another relaxing evening and we headed off to NSW (Sydney) - 1 hectic week later!
Love Sanj n Jay
