Hi all,
Updates coming thick and fast...!
We enjoyed 3 nights in Singapore, (brag mode ON) soaking up the fantastic weather ... 33C...backing like a right potato...infact after my haircut(yes, what hair...), this old indian guy (about 70) near shaved my complete head. I'd like to think I look like grant mitchell...but I think the holiday food makes me look like phil instead...!
We spent a day at sentosa island - just off the coast...well...once we managed to flag a cab down...10 mins waving at them as they drove by...if I dont find work back home, then cabbies are in short supply over here...! Well, sentosa's an entertainment park with lots of animal shows, som simple rdes (yes, even I can sit on them,..well most!). The hightlist was the amazing FREE musical fountain show at night. Breathtaking! I also manaed to get a snap with a couple of snakes (alive this time). don't worry, they're v tame - I'll try posting piccies soon too.
Been staying with my cousin and her family (FREE!). Thy have a great condo (ie flat), and made us feel v at home. Thank you Ammitaben & family!
The second full day was spent around the centre, having a typical singapore sling in the raffles long bar (incidently full of mainly reitred brits for some reasons). Bad news - is cost about 6quid, good news = FREE monkey nuts! Also, the tradition dictates that you throw the shells on the floor...bizarre for such a posh establishment..
We even managed to get caught in a downpour - v tropical but I was SO HAPPY. I had a tear in my eye remembering blighty!
Rest of the day spent in indian district (like leicester!) where we had an amazing meal for 2 quid...stuffed myself..!
In the evening e went to the much touted Night safari...it was.. OK, I think expectations were set too high by some ...to name no names... (ragga/babla/everyone else who's been there!..oops!)...still worth a trip for sure. finished the night off with a beer at clarke quay...just like the oracle (but bigger and nicer and warmer and...!)
Anyway, we bid farewell to singapore today and head to western Oz - to Perth.
(brag mode OFF)
More updates will follow!
