So!!  I made it.  I left Saturday morning (yesterday?!), had travel time of about 15 hours, and arrived in Korea at10pm on Sunday night...  So even though back in the states it's still Sunday, it's Monday here.  I time travelled!!  I was put straight to work too..

I arrived last night in my apartment.  I have a very nice teacher who picked my up, and got everything ready at the "apartment" I'm staying in.  Yeah.... it's small.  One room, a closet with no place to hang anything, the desk is ok, the kitchen is in a closet on the patio, and my washer is in my very small already bathroom.  And that's it :)  It's not crappy or anything, just....small.  The view is kinda ok.  It's better at night when you can see all the lights of downtown, and not all the ugly rooftops :)  I'll have pictures later because I don't have internet access at my apt yet :(  I met a neighbor and fellow English teacher this morning, and he said I can use his internet, but I think I'm just going to find out how to get some of my own

I had to be at the school this morning at 8am.  So....in Korea, you have to take your shoes off when you enter a building...even schools.  I didn't know I was supposed to bring something more compfortable to wear, so I'm wearing these really ugly slip-on shower shoes.  Yeah.  With my nice professional clothes.

ALSO!! I was expected to teach today!!  TEACH!!  Are you kidding me?  I just freaking got here!  The organization I went through really did not give me very much info.  What actually is making this all really bad is that I have no voice.  I had bronchitis a week ago, and my voice has been in and out.  Well, after a fun night out on Friday, then time traveling on like, two hours of sleep....  Yeah, I have no voice.  None.  So, today when the principal (who by the way looks like every scary older Asian man that you read about in books) wants me to introduce myself over the loud speaker....I had to say no.  I couldn't do anything. OMG it was so embarrassing. Nice impression I'm making.

As far as lunchtime goes here, it's chicken soup, kimchi (pickled things, but generally cabbage), a seafood mix (squid and octopus anyone??) and rice.  Needless to say I didn't eat the seafood medly.

I got separated from my friend Anne.  We're not living or working anywhere near each other (as promised), and at this point we don't have a reliable scource of communication--emails when we can??  I'm lucky though, my school provided me with a laptop, and internet when I get a chance when I'm at school.

I have to go shopping tonight to find things for my apartment...you know, dishes and things.  No St. Patty's for me!!  :(  Booooo!!  I heard there's a few places around here celebratig too!!

All the kids in the school are soooo funny with me.  I'm the only one with blue eyes in the building...  I feel like a big dork.  The teachers are really nice so far, and a few have offered to show me around.  Ok, well I should go for now.  Another class is about to start....  That's all for now.

I miss you...everyone....  :(
