These stand for Beach, Burger and Bloomin Onion.

Stayed locally yesterday. Had a quick wander round a Mall, got told by a member of staff in Belk "you should!" when I mentioned I'd love to live over here. If only it was that easy!!

As it was such a lovely sunny and warm day I didn't want to spend it inside! It was time for lunch as well so we ended up at one of my favourite places in the world to eat (yes I am easily pleased) 'The River City Cafe'. There are 4 of these in existence, all in Myrtle Beach area. The only one I love going to though is the one located in Murrell's Inlet. It's a wooden shack style place, covered in old license plates from various places and penned graffiti of names and messages of people who have been there. They do an amazing Bloomin Onion. This is a large onion cut in a way that it drops out into a flower shape, cover and fried in a crispy batter and served with a petal sauce. Before this trip I had never made a note of the name of the sauce this came with so had no idea what was in it. Now I know and can make it at home, hurrah! I think there were about 12 different types of burgers on the menu, I was boring and stuck with bacon and cheese but it is my favourite so why not! Stupidly I said yes to fries, I knew I wouldn't be able to eat these! I almost forgot, at the River City Cafe you are given a tray of peanuts in their shells and can throw the empty shell cases on the floor. Not the only place in the world you can do this (Raffles Hotel, Singapore is another) but a nice quirk when you can make a mess and it's not being naughty! I also forgot while I was there about free refills. Marvellous.

After eating we made our way to a place called Ocean Lakes. This is a holiday camp on Myrtle Beach where my uncle works as head of security. It's not what you know, it's who, as usually you would need to be staying on the camp site and have a pass to be allowed in. As a VIP though we were let through and given a golf buggy to drive around on. I was more scared about driving this than I was the car! There was a quad bike incident when I was 6 and in the Isle of Wight involving me going off down a hill unable to stop the bike! Anyway we did have a brief moment on the beach and I braved dipping my feet in the Atlantic.

Headed home after this and sat out on the porch for a while, enjoying the fact it was late afternoon and I could do this without a coat!
