Having already checked in online yesterday we only had to work out how to print the bag labels and attach them to our bags upon arrival at Gatwick. The ability to spot and read simple instructions on the back of the labels is required. We then had to join a small queue to get them weighed and off on their journey to the plane. Sadly this is probably the most enjoyable part of travel in the 21st century.

Going through security isn't quite as traumatic as it has been in the 12+ years since that tragic day and for once I didn't get felt up (bit disappointed with this really)!

Starving hungry we found a place to eat breakfast (Garfunkel's). If we had bothered to do our research and found the Red Lion we could have saved ourselves a whole pound each on the price of the traditional breakfast. Wowwwweee! Apart from feeling it was overpriced the food was nice enough and everything is overpriced at airports.

After a quick wander round the shops we made our way to the departure gate and only had a short time before they started boarding our flight. Standard things really - on plane, belt up, wait for a bit, start moving, take off.

I'll comment on 2 things about the plane journey, the films and the food. I watched 2 films in full, these were Seven Psychopaths and the other I cannot for the life of me remember what it was! Really enjoyed them both. Seven Psychopaths, easy to watch, some funny moments and very suited to Christopher Walken. The other film, I do remember enjoying so having a mental block on what it was is no reflection on how good it is. The food - for our main meal we had chicken with potatoes and peas, this came with a smoked salmon starter and Lily O'Briens chocolate mousse for dessert. I've been really spoilt in plane food recently as my journeys have been with Singapore Airlines. It was nice, there was nothing wrong with it but on Singapore there would have been a bit of cheese and probably something else snack like with the meal. Near the end of the journey we had a sandwich and a biscuit, again fine but didn't really match up to Singapore Airlines standard or quantity.

Due to high winds over the Atlantic our journey time was delayed by half an hour meaning we landed in Orlando at 5pm instead of 4.30 and that leads us to my next entry (wow this was long)!
