With the worst hangovers of the trip so far, we went downstairs for a hotel breakfast of bacon and eggs. Then ventured via taxi to San Diego Zoo. Arriving at San Diego Zoo, there were hedges in Elephant shapes like in Edward Scissorhands.

We did ALOT of walking around the zoo, flamingos, tree kangaroos, meerkates, a rattle snake!, lions, tigers and bears.....elephants and monkeys galore!

This one monkey was so cute, doing rolly pollies in the grass one after the other! I got it on video it was the cutest!

We had to line up to get into the Panda enclosure! So awesome to see 2 Giant Pandas, so rare and beautiful. They were both asleep in the trees, just hanging there sleeping. Awww!

We went on the Skyfari, a skylift across the whole park. Towards the entrance and got a quick calimari and chips for lunch. The whole day we would say to eachother, we are going to be in Vegas tonight! I expected much more from San Diego Zoo, i had heard such great things about it and it being one of the best zoos in the world. I thought Taronga Zoo is way better!

We picked up our bags from our hotel and said goodbye to San Diego, we were en route to VEGAS! As we got to the airport, through security we were headed then Mel turns around and walks away from secuirty quickly with a panicked look on her face. I followed her asking whats wrong. "I have scissors and handcream!!!" - Mel. She didnt end up having it in her carry on but her face still makes me laugh. Our SouthWest flight was quick, 1 hour and 10 mins, we amused ourselves by reading the in flight magazines which were advertising funny things such as a pet doorbell! Coming in to land, i could see the strip from our plane - those Las Vegas lights! As our plane landed everyone cheered :) VEGAS BABY!

As we got off the plane, walking through the airport, it was clear that that airport couldnt be in any other city. Poker machines IN the airport, we continued to walk to the taxi exit and a train appeared out of nowhere, inside the airport. It was really weird! As we reached the baggage claim, we could tell Vegas was already different. A vending machine for fresh flowers? WTF! As you arrive in Vegas, its clear who the queen of vegas is Miss Holly Madison....she is everywhere! We were so excited to see Peepshow!

We got a cab to our hotel the Flamingo, checked in and went up to our room. Such a bachelor pad room, with padded walls, tv in the bathroom mirror and double headed showers. We got dressed and ready for dinner and drinks. As we walked through our hotel, everyone was staring at us...weird then when we went out on the street EVERYONE stopped and stared at us. It was so strange and we realised we were the only girls in dresses everyone else wore jeans. I thought Vegas was the tackiest place in the world why couldnt we wear what we wanted without being the centre of attention on the strip?

Dinner: Serendipity 3, just outside Caesars Palace. We had a craving for pasta.
I ordered an apple Cotton Candy martini $12.50 which came out just a cocktail glass with cotton candy in it. The bartender came over and poured something on top and voila the cotton candy disolved! Mel ordered a Strawberry Dacquiari. For dinner i got a Mac n Cheese $11.50...mmm comforting American food! They had some weird things on the menu like Frozen hot chocolate - must try next time! & mac and cheese pizza!

We walked up to Caesars Palace to check out their nightlife and out the front of the nightclub entrance, a promoter gave us 2 VIP free entry wristbands which also included a free drink! OK then, so we walked into Caesars and into the Pussycat Doll Casino! Pussycat Dolls dealers in cute costumes and dancing around the casino tables. There were people crowding into the Pussycat Doll Lounge so we followed the crowd. The dolls did an awesome performance in a martini glass and on stage. It really felt like we were in Vegas! We went into Pure after the performance, straight to the bar! We ordered 2 drinks each because everyone around us was already wasted. The gothic bartender chick, kindly marked our wristbands for our free drink so we only had to pay for 1 drink each! The club was an older crowd, i swear there was a grandma dancing behind us at one stage! We decided after our massive day of walking around San Diego Zoo we'd call it a night!
