June 13: Had to say our goodbyes to Dustin today...he heads back to CT for a few weeks...sad, yes, but we know we'll see him again AND he promised to fulfill a few needs/wants from the states when he comes back down...ie..Siracha for chant and granola bars for kiley..so, all is good... Caught the direct bus,( cost about 1800 c) to Manuel Antonio at 6:00 pm....the best bus so far, air con and tv...and like I said, direct, so we should make it there by 9:30, which is when we are supposed to meet Jamison at Cafe Milagro. Turns out, it took us 2 hours to even get out of San Jose, so we ended up there at about midnight, so it took us 6 hours instead of 4 1/2...

We met this guy Tony who supposedly owns Mar y Sombre a restuarant/disco tech who was soooo funny and nice that we promised him we would come for breakfast the next morning...anyway we get off the bus and it's raining a lot outside, Manuel is a fun town, but there's nothing open at midnight, Jamison after searching every where or so he told us has given up on us by this time, we have no idea where he lives so, we head back to Quepos and have just enough $ to get a room...but we are still starving and only have 1000 colones....so, I head to the ATM with confidence and have chant order a couple beers...turns out the machine doesn't like my card...we feel a bit up the creek, so to speak, b/c we're starving at this point and after visiting the second ATM things are not looking good. Finally, chant spots another and lucky us...it works! While sitting at this place that is a 24 hour bar/restaurant we see about 10 crack heads...little scary. This one woman with mini skirt, stilleto's, sparkly stuff around her belly button comes walking down the street and the dogs under our table start barking and she picks up a rock and comes towards or table and the dogs, but the owners tell her to go away and thank goodness she does! All and all good food, and good sleep!

June 14: Wake up, walk around, get a bit of interesting advice(see pic for explan) from Alvaro, the owner of Mar Y Luna(the hostel we ended up at)..and caught a bus to Manuel b/c we promised Toni we would come to Mar y Sombre for breakfast...we tried to call Jamison again, but no answer, and after breakfast we decide we'll just get a room b/c finding him at this point is looking bleak...then, just as we pay the check....here he comes walking down the beach! We were sooo excited..then, we headed up to his place and pretty much stayed there for the rest of the weekend(when you see the pics, you'll understand why) Did make it to the restaurant next door for the best daquiri I've ever had(guanabana and strawberry)..okay, actually 3, but who's counting. Then, back to Jamison's for a little pool time and then to Barba Rojo's for sunset and happy hour...which is where we met Adrian(artist from CA) and Frederick(from St. Martin)whose parents own the oldest hotel in Manuel Antonio, La Mariposa...they talked (Kiley) into doing somersalts down the hill with them...and, minus the fire ants, was actually really fun...and after talking to them for a while, they started telling stories about these crazy guys from Hawaii...that's when chant and I look at each other like, "no, it coldn't be" Turns out...they were talking about brian, timmy t and philly....small world. End up meeting them back at Marlins for drinks with a bunch of flight attendants from FL and a few other people...good times, but actually turned out to be a pretty early night.

June 15: Wake up, this family comes to look at Jamison's house and decides they want to rent....not gonna lie...we were a little disappointed seeing as how we had already started planning on having chant's b-day party there next month....so now, jamison is moving to montapalo...which is cool, too b/c we'll have a new place to visit...We go to Quepos to buy our bus ticket for 5, but it turns out we have to leave Jamison early on the 2:00 bus b/c everything else is full...and whatayaknow...it's not direct....oh my god....hot, crowded and we stopped, literally, every 5 miles. Turned out not to be so bad, though, b/c we met some cool people(see pic). Actually, they were mormon (they hadn't seen the movie Orgazmo)? anyway...and we've never met a mormon person before, so we had a whole list of questions. Def. a learning experience for chant and I...and I'll be the first to admit that I (Kiley) stuck my foot in my mouth when they mentioned how many bros/sis they had..one had 9 siblings, the other 13...the first thing that came to my mind was amish people....b/c in Missouri, you just don't have that size of a family unless you're amish...but we were all such good friends by the end of the trip that it became a little joke...Russ, hope you made it to Vegas safe and that your new job is going well...and say hi to Wade for us! We finally make it back home after walking probably at least a mile in the rain because we can't find a open cab but it was just in time to call the dads for fathers day....we love you, miss you and can't wait to see you!
