What's a trip to Colorado in the summer without white-water rafting? Today we woke up early and were on the road to KODI by 8. We had to leave so early because the rafting place was actually past Frisco, about an hour away. We wanted to be early and we thought the bus was going to leave at 9:30. Once we arrived, we discovered that it didn't leave until 10, so we had a lot of time to prepare ourselves for the trip. Thankfully Dad was having mercy on us because of the low temperatures (highs in the low 70s most days) and let us rent full wetsuits and splash jackets. It was hot in the sun while we were waiting but I was so thankful to have the full coverage once we were out on the river.

Our group of three went with another group of three women and we got in the Arkansas River to do the Numbers course around 10:30. The Numbers course isn't very creatively named, because it exists of eight rapids, named one through seven (there's a one and a half, too), all of which are Class III-IV. I think they can also go up to Class V when the water levels are higher, but that wasn't the case this trip. It was a fun trip and our guide was great! We only did a half day trip so we were finished around 12, then went into Leadville for lunch at Manuelita's. They were a little busy because of the Leadville 100 race which was getting set to take place the next day.
