Where I stayed

Mom and Dad picked me up at the Frisco transfer center and after a much-needed lunch (I had been awake for 12 hours with just one meal at that point) at the Breckenridge Brewery, we made the quick drive to our condo. I don't think we've ever had a condo with as beautiful a view! It's right on Lake Dillon with an unobstructed view of the lake and mountains on all sides. The porch is equipped with heavy adirondack chairs, a dining table, and a built-in grill; it's perfect for entertaining or a quiet afternoon watching the sailboat on the reservoir. I was so tired that my first few hours here were spent asleep on the couch and the only socializing I did was my usual sleep-talking.

Today I woke up with the intention of running 4 miles, as dictated by my training routine, but the altitude and weather had different plans. I wimped out after 2.5 miles, which was really frustrating considering I've been running on a treadmill for a month and all I want is to do my long runs outside. Besides the breathing difficulties, the weather wasn't cooperating and I barely made it inside before the downpour started. Dad wasn't so lucky; he was up on Vail Pass on a bike ride being rained, sleeted, and hailed on. On the bright side, there was a beautiful rainbow after the weather passed!

I managed a 2 mile ride on the road bike later in the afternoon but generally felt uncomfortable and wasn't upset when we turned around early because if the wind and looming rain clouds. The weather was pretty limiting for the rest of the evening, so we Hung around the condo and did some shopping before calling it an early night.
