I traveled to Portland, Oregon in late November early December. My favorite musician, Sam Beam was playing at the Crystal Ballroom. Yes, I flew across the country to see him, but at the time the rates for flying were outstanding. I stayed at the NW hostel where I met some really great girls. I kept in touch with a few. Elizabeth lives on the outskirts of Gresham. When you use the google weather tracker, it lists this town as Boring. It's really lovely with spectacular views of Mt Hood and gorgeous parks within a bike ride's distance. The streets are lined with tree farms and occassionally the Alpaca farm. What cute animals. I'm still trying to figure out what one farms Alpaca for.
I stay with Elizabeth in a small cottage with two big red barns and a silo on the property. The property has so much potential and life.
Ryan introduced me to the game Frolf or Frisbee Golf while in Utah. My friend Chris took me to play here in Gresham. For those of you not in the know, it's much like golf only with Frisbees. Poke fun. I know I did, but I must say it's fun! Ryan and I scoped out another park to Frolf the other day. Some folks take this game mighty seriously.
I mentioned Mt Hood also. From the cottage, there's an amazing view of this mountain. Today in town, we saw some folks unloading their snowboards still wet with snow from their car. Mt Hood apparently has snow all year round. From our view, it certainly has plenty now.
I live in Multnomah County. It is the home of many waterfalls. We took a ride to the Mutlnomah Falls yesterday. It is the second steepest falls in the country. If anyone can tell me what the steepest falls are, that would be sweet. We took a mile hike up to the falls traversing switchbacks of the entire 600ft. Perhaps I'm not as fit as i once thought I was :)
