I've got a big trouble from the beginning. I lost my backpack. I realised that when I got off the bus to Boston and looked for it before the boot. My backpack was missing. I immediately reported it to the driver and a Greyhound counter staff member, but they couldn't find it. I was upset. In addition to my DSLR camera and portable DVD player, there were clothes, amenities and thongs in the backpack. I filed a missing report to the bus company and they also called their office in Montreal, but my backpack was not found. Actually that incident happened due to my misunderstanding. When I bought a bus ticket at the counter of the Montreal bus station, the counter lady told me to put my backpack on the scale there. Then she said OK. At the time, I misunderstood that I had checked in the backpack. I left it on the scale and got on the bus to Boston. In fact, however, I had to take it myself. I was doomed. The counter staff member kindly gave me the office phone number and told me to call them after a while.

I didn't want waste my time, so I had breakfast at the McDonald's in the bus station and headed for my hostel for the night. On its way, I dropped by the tourist information of the city centre. Unfortunately, I couldn't find anything interesting but Museum of Fine Arts. Actually, I had known it before I arrived at Boston. In any case, I had plenty of time in Boston, so I visited Massatusetts State House, just because it was free. When I joined a guided tour, a Canadian boy talked to me in Japanese language. His wife was Japanese and he met her in Japan while he was studying there. He said he dropped by the state house after he had applied for his immigration to the US. I prefer Canada to the US, so I asked him why, but he didn't talk much about it. Anyway, he was really nice and recommended me a good pasta restaurant in North End, although I didn't go.

Then I went back to the bus station to check up on my lost backpack, but I didn't hear good news. I needed some clothes, so I bought a couple of souvenir T-shirts in the streets. That was all for the day. I got tired and went back to my hostel without eating dinner. That was because the hostel was supposed to offer free pasta. Somehow, however, they cancelled it and furthermore wifi was not available over the night. I was sick of the hostel, but I found some good clothes and snow boots in the donation box in the next morning, which made me happy.
