Just before I left Australia, I visited Gold Coast, Queensland, although my visa would have expired in a few days. That's why I took a flight from Sydney to Gold Coast, even though they are not far apart from each other. The first impression I have got there was it was similar to Hawaii. As I said that to Americans met in Auckland, they said Hawaii was more gorgeous, but both of them are just for rich holidaymakers, not for backpackers like me. It was O.K. to just stay for a couple of days, but I was sure I couldn't put up with the atomosphere if I had stayed longer. Anyway, the only part I visited was Warner Bros. Movie World, but I was a little bit embarrassed, because I visited there alone and all the others were together with someone. At least, however, I am a big fan of Hollywood movies and I thought it was a must for me to visit the amusement park, even I was alone. Anyway, the park was compact enough to enjoy all the attractions in a day, which was better than larger parks like Disneyland. All the attractions were not so bad, but the most memorable one was Police Academy theater with a full of actions and effects. Parade was just O.K. with heroes from Warner Bros' movies. Except the park and Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum, I don't remember so much about Gold Coast. There were other theme parks in the area including Dreamworld, Sea world, and Wet'n'Wild, but I was not interested. The futurist mazes was a wast of time and money. Things are expensive, the beach was not beautiful, the town was crowded, I had no idea what was the real attraction of Gold Coast. (Sorry, if you have a good impression on the city.)
