Rainbow River Lodge
Today was another long day of travelling as we left the Okavango Delta and completed the return journey across the Botswanan – Namibian border back to Rainbow River Lodge. Despite losing a day back-tracking, heading back to Namibia en route to Chobe National Park is apparently quicker than trying to negotiate the poor quality roads through the Botswana countryside. After crossing a river on a barge, stopping at the supermarket for supplies, clearing immigration and eating lunch in "no man's land", we continued on to reach our camp ground by mid afternoon. We then set up camp and had the afternoon at our leisure. It was nice to wash off two days of filth in the shower. We watched the sun go down, ate dinner and chatted as hippos grunted in the background.
