So I meet up with Lucia at the David bus termal, where it is raining and with my right foot I step in an unavoidable and river-like stream of run-off water; thus, causing a feng-shui imbalance in the dryness level of my feet.
But we make it safely to Lucia's mom's house (photo), where we are inundated by the slobber and muddy paws of the resident German Sheppard--who is probably bigger than Lucia (photo).
We spent a few nice days there, living a very relaxed life, eating a lot of home-made pizza. Then Lucia had to go back to Bocas, leaving me along to contend with a large spider that wanted to watch cable TV with me one night and a most disgusting centipede that crawled over my foot while I was brushing my teeth in the bathroom. The centipede was chased under a small towel shelf, extradited from a comfy crevice he'd crawled into with a fly-swatter, capture under a wine glass, then flushed down the toilet after a being held under the water by the same fly-swatter until it has nearly drowned. I learned from this experience that centipedes are very tough to kill.
But aside from this, things were very pleasant. The view of Volcan Baru, the nearly hourly cups of teas, and the no-English language environment were very relaxing.
