Cairo is big. About 20 million inhabitants and spread over a huge area. The traffic was already bad before the revolution, but now, with very few traffic police only, people drive even crazier and it is definitely dangerous on the road. Also crossing the road by foot is not as simple as it sounds and involves walking between the driving cars and stopping them for a second, jumping to the other side...
Anyway, it is a very interesting and lively city, and still politically very active. On Tahrir square, there are demonstrators gathering evey day, but especially on Fridays it gets busy, and dangerous.

The pyramids of Giza, which are actually more or less in the middle of the city, are very impressive, but I don't have to tell you more about those I guess.

Islamic Cairo is very interesting, with a very lively Souq and numerous mosques.
