On October 8th, I was welcomed in my new home by Pati and Nilu - my new roommates. Oh yeah, and Coffee the gargantuan dog (that Nilu calls Copy cuz she can't pronounce her 'f's). He must be a black labrador-great dane cross. Shall we call him a greabrador? a labradane? Regardless, he's huge and isn't really trained. And he growls at me. We've had a few 'little talks' (I told him 'I live here now too, you have to be nice to me') to no avail...

Pati is a bank manager. He and Nilu are in their late 30s and without children. They have kindly rented me the second story of their beautiful home, and welcomed me as part of their family. They often invite me down for meals and are always ensuring that I am happy and comfortable.

My new home is wonderful - it's about 4 times the size of my apartment in Canada. I have a nice big common room, bedroom, bathroom, kitchen (though the sink is on one of my 3 balconies) and a rooftop patio. The rooftop patio is a real treat because it provides me some privacy from the neighbors and people walking by (they often stare...). Plus there are tons of trees and birds around - sometimes it's nice to sit out there and just take them all in! Little lizards scurry around and keep me company. And I think I finally have the ant 'situation' under control (turn out they don't 'find' holes in bags/wrappers, they 'make' holes in bags/wrappers).
