Packed down by 8:30am or 8:38am by the Kents clock, or 8:35am by the Marshalls clock. The Marshalls won the pack up contest that we weren't really having but were kind of. The aim for today is to get down to Laura by tonight. This meant it would be a day of long hard driving. It was nice to get back onto the main track. Traffic was relatively constant going up to the Cape. Dropped into Archer River again for a burger and a fuel stop. The competition was then made as to who would get the closest time of arrival at Laura. We all chose our time and it came to dispute when I chose to ask for a 4:51pm and 30 seconds. Apparently we couldn’t time this as the car clocks don’t show seconds….very funny conversation ensued. We had a break at Hann River, which threw the times a bit. Arrived at Laura at 4:58pm, making Carolyn the winner of that round. The camping spot was ordinary but was made exceptional with the offering of a hot shower….Chili Beach didn’t have any facilities so we all were looking forward to a shower. Eased into a night of internet access, phone calls, map viewing (to work out what each family was going to do from there) and photo viewing.
