Oh my goodness. It's now only 12 days to go and we are excitedly nervous. The lead up to this trip has been anything but smooth and it has been touch and go whether we go. Stress, worry, stress and apprehension have been our feelings for the past few weeks.
Out of the blue, 6 weeks ago I had a problem with my lower back. I have worked so hard and done everything possible to get rid of the pain and problems from this and there is now hope that with still 12 (ONLY 12) days to go, I should be able to manage the plane trip with lots of stretching and moving. We have even thought of getting the girls to go for a plane meander for 15 mins every now and then so I can lie over their seats and rest the back. Once we are there we move with our RV home (that's a camper van- or "Recreational Vehicle" as the American's call it!) and will be able to dictate how active we are.
Our RV is 31ft long and we can't believe we will be running around a foreign country on the "WRONG" side of the road with the giant beast! The trip will need to be modified to what we had planned but I know we'll have a great adventure anyway regardless how active we are. As it was, Holly walked around the shops for 30 minutes the other day and her feet were apparently killing her? hmmmm. Darren thinks I'll be leading the pack! ha ha
We are beginning to pack and we can now see from the 15 day weather forecast, what the expected weather will be. This is making the whole thing quite real. In some places it looks like we are going to melt! Here in Melbourne our weather has been around 9-17 degrees Celsius in the day...and in Las Vegas it has been 43 degrees! ARGH!!! Then Yellowstone on the other hand has been a nice 20 degrees but hitting minus 4 degrees at night. I'm sure it will even cool further as we will hopefully be at Yellowstone in 4 weeks time... but before winter hits!
Time to check the list of what to take and see what we still need to purchase.
Tick, Tick, Tick!
(12 days, 23 hours, 48 minutes and 20 seconds until the plane leaves the tarmac!)

You don't do things by halves. Fantastic. Hope you convert Darren to touring for good. He was never interested when I prattled on about our little Avan, give him a palace on wheels and he'll be won over. Looking forward to following your blog. Remember to pack the painkillers and a book on massage. Have The best time
