Hola!

I love Fridays! I woke up early this morning to go to the CIEE center and use the Internet and then had my 3 hour class. I went back after lunch to try to use the internet more but the server was down, which happens a lot, and I was unsuccessful. I was so excited when I realized that in two weeks I won't have any class on Fridays! After I came back from the center, I dropped off my stuff and went for a walk. It was beautiful outside and a great temperature. I walked around and ended up by the river where I stopped and read my Spain guidebook for awhile. There were a lot of people out strolling and relaxing and it was so beautiful.

Its weird to think I haven't even been here for 2 weeks. I feel like I know so much about the city and have been living with Pepita for more then two weeks. It also hasn't hit me that I am going to be here for 5 months. I feel like I'm visiting Aunt Kathy for a month and my time is half way up. I'm not sure when that's going to kick in, but right now 5 months sure seems like a long time.

After my great walk, I came back and hung around until dinner. Pepita went out tonight with a friend and she got a babysitter for Abuela who is about my age. It was a bit weird because around dinner time, the babysitter prepared my food and served it to me without letting me help her. It was weird to have someone my age doing that for me.

After dinner, I met my friends Heather and Becca and we went out for some tapas. It was fun and later I met their friend Rena who is from their university and is doing a full year abroad so she didn't have to be here for the intensive session. It was great to talk to her because she knows all the good places to go since she was here last semester. Rena was really nice and all three of them are so sweet. We bowed out around 2 which is very early in Spain because we were pretty tired and didn't have the energy to stay out until 4am when things really get going. Now I know why the Spaniards have to have that siesta!
