Hola!
Today was a pretty low key day. Becky & I didn't have to be at the CIEE center until 4pm this afternoon so we slept for most of the day. We woke up to eat breakfast and hung around for awhile until it was time for lunch again. They feed you so much food here in Spain. Dinner is supposed to be a small meal but for us, it's bigger then it is in the United States. For dinner tonight we had some kind of vegetable soup, personal pizzas, bread, fruit, and candy. Pepita gets really offended when we don't eat all of it so we usually end up stuffed. No wonder people don't snack between meals. Also she tries to ask us beforehand if we will eat something and she asked us today if we would eat 2 hamburgers with potatoes and fruit. We were like no, too much!
Also another funny thing about Pepita is she can't pronounce my name. She calls me Meggie which I told her is what my Mom calls me so I think it made her feel better. She always calls Rebecca's name when she wants us because she says she can't remember mine. I think it's pretty funny that she is always calling out for Becky. Also, Pepita introduced us to friends of hers this afternoon named Sergio and Rosita. Sergio wants to intercambio and both of them are really sweet. It was really interesting to talk to him and get his point of view of America verse Sevilla.
Becky & I went to the CIEE center at 4 to schedule our classes. We found out that we have the same intensive session for the next 3 weeks and it meets Mon-Fri from 12 to 3 which I think is a great time. I also registered for my other classes. I am taking 3 of my courses at the University de Sevilla with professors that the University hires but are taught for Americans in Spanish. I am taking European Art of the 20th century, Flamenco: Cultural and Anthropological Expression of Andalusia, and Introduction to the Modern History of Spain. I am also taking one CIEE course at the center called Spanish 4001: Academic Writing and Critical thinking. It should be a hard course load but some of them I'm pretty excited about.
Miss you all!
Megan
