Where I stayed
Our South African Adventure According to Me, Day 11
by Brian Mullen
Mindy was right on with her weather forecast. The sun was shining and not even one cloud was in sight. After breakfast, we met with our guide Eric who taught us how to ride segways. Then we were off to tour the vineyard and farm. The scenery was beautiful since we were near the mountains, on green pastures, and in perfect weather conditions. Mindy even stopped to hand-feed a few cows. Our segway journey lasted just over an hour and it was then time for us to pack and get ready to depart from Cape Town. We stopped at the Spier hotel restaurant to order my favorite cookies and cream dessert one last time and then hit the road. Our guide from early on in our journey, Warren, scooped us up and wished us one last farewell as he dropped us off at the Cape Town Airport.
We left Cape Town at 6:50 p.m. on Sunday and arrived in London at 6:00 a.m. on Monday. The weather was quite nasty as you may or may not have heard on the news. Floods have been ripping through much of England over the last few days. Mindy and I ultimately decided to jump on an earlier flight instead of tour London on such a dreary day.
