Day 4

The day started out interesting due to the events at the beach party ( I dint end up going because I was so tired and already had a drink at the bar after dinner).

Boat Trip

Amazing! awesome! fantastic! I just don't have words to describe the experience I had today. The weather was very warm and the boat trip was our group with a few other groups and there were about 40 people in the boat altogether. The tour guide (Bin) had some really quirky humour..some anecdotes from him:

'Everything same same...but different' followed by a wink! (This was in the context of the men changing at the top of the boat)

' when snorkelling you can't touch the rocks...but your can touch each other!' Again the wink lol

The first stop was in the island called Mun. Here we visited an aquarium (I'm attaching lots of pics) and I saw lion fish, stone fish, Leopard sharks amongst others. The aquarium was a very architecturally interesting building.

The next island was called Mot...

I decided to scuba dive! The first five minutes were learning the equipment and hand signals and then they zipped me up in the wet suit and oxygen tank and just told me to just jump off the boat! The guide was lovely and talked me through and did the dive with me. I got freaked out initially because the water kept getting into my eye goggles and making my eyes burn so I couldn't see. The guide sorted this out and after that it a like a new world. I felt totally disconnected to the rest of the world...i was surrounded by beautiful coral and fishes swimming within reach. I saw sea urchins (that I just seen at the aquarium!). The dive was 30 mins but I felt like I could spend ages there. When I came out I was speechless and had a huge smile plastered on my face lol
Then we all got off the boat and into the ocean :) we were given rubber rings to lie on with cocktails...lovely :)

I can't remember the name of the next island but this time I hired a jet ski. Bin said he would go with me (I'm so glad he did because I got scared of driving it so fast myself) and I can honestly say I had the ride of my life. It a pure adrenaline rush that I just cannot describe. I had a sore throat after it because I was screaming on it so much!

Lunch was provided on the boat but I didn't feel like eating anything much....I think it was all the adrenaline!

We came back to Nha Trang and had dinner (really nice Italian place). I had my usual coffee after...they're latte's are different...very strong and very sweet.....quite nice though :)

SLEEPER TRAIN from Nha Trang to Hoi An at 9pm

This time we were in 2nd class and I was in the carriage with Justine, Alicia and Meera ....and many other little unwanted friends lol. I saw a little cockroach climb up from the bottom bunk where I was to Justine's bunk at the top. I warned her about it and she lifted up her mattress. This was a bad idea as she discovered more of our friends there. She then proceeded to fumigate the room while we were still in it.....I think we were suffocating, screaming and laughing all at the same time lol I decided not to look under my mattress and pretend I was still underwater scuba diving and fell asleep!

HOI AN - 3/10/12

Reached Danang station at 11am and drove about 45mins along some stunning beaches to reach Hoi An. It's a lovely little village and our hotel here (Golf Hoi An) is really nice. The village is famous for its peaceful lifestyle and tailoring shops. We had brunch at a place overlooking the river that dave recommended and the food was fab....in particular the fish in the banana leaf :)

We then relaxed and in the evening went to a tailor shop (Yaly tailors) and I ordered a coat and some shoes. Justine got a top and a dress...Meera ordered two dresses. We're picking them up tomorrow so will see how it goes! Fingers crossed!!

We went for a walk by the river and it was so beautiful. There was a very cute little Vietnamese boy selling lucky candles with his mum on the road (see pic!). The river at night is surrounded by lamps and lanterns giving a magical feeling when walking down.

I love Hoi An and sad that were leaving here in a few days. The plan tomorrow is to go to a cooking school for Vietnamese food (can't handle the seafood so ill stick to the veg option) and on a boat trip. We also promised a night on the town to Rianna
