Arrival at the DFW airport to find that, due to "acts of god" (a.k.a.
bad weather earlier in the day), various flights were canceled. Result:
caused my flight to be overbooked and delayed, I get bumped to the next
later flight, which would..."Best case scenario, ma'am, (I'm a
ma'am!!!!! Wow, time flies...no pun intended :) ) the plane will arrive
in LAX at 10:30(PM). Maybe." This would then give me approximately 45
minutes to collect my bags (which would hopefully be in L.A.), cross to
the other side of the airport to Air New Zealand, and check in to make
my flight at 11:15. In addition, the plane that was to continue to L.A.
hadn't even left Dulles at the time they were telling me this, which
was about 30 minutes before it was supposed to depart from DFW (at this
new updated time schedule). Hmmm, I don't know about you all, but those
odds don't seem too good to me.

So. Given all the information
they were willing to give me, and after consulting my dad on the
matter, I decided not to take the chance and rescheduled to the
following week. Oh yeah, did I forget to mention that the flight to
Tonga only runs on Tuesdays? Yeah, so missing the flight isn't really
an option, as there's not exactly another one I can catch later in the
day. But I digress...

Well, I didn't go to L.A. tonight and now
I am back home, waiting to pick up my bags tomorrow and scheduled to
fly to Tonga on next weeks flight.

Oh yeah, as of right now, the
plane I would have been on is tentatively scheduled to arrive in L.A.
at 11:02PM. Yeah. I wouldn't have made my flight to Tonga. Enough said.

(I appologize for runon sentences, errors, mistakes etc.  I'm tired and stressed.)
