With 4 weeks until departure, things are finally starting to come together.
Our tickets and travel documents arrived by courier this week. Fortunately we noticed that our Japan Rail Passes were missing... could've been interesting without them!

The itinerary is finalised, and looks like this:

- 2 nights in Asakusa, Tokyo
- 1 night in a hut on Mt Fuji
- 1 night at a resort near Mt Fuji
- 1 night back in Asakusa, Tokyo
- 2 nights in Takayama
- 1 night in Kanazawa
- 3 nights in Kyoto
- 1 night in Hiroshima
- 1 night in Osaka

We've opted to stay at a traditional Japanese inn (ryokan) where possible, with a few Western-style hotels thrown in for a different experience.
