It was a beautifully warm and sunny day today so my aunt and I headed off to Calgary zoo. I'd been there before when I visited Calgary two years ago, but it was still worth seeing again as many of the exhibits had changed and there were several new sections. I always like the Canadian wildlife section, as you get to see local animals that are fairly elusive in the wild (such as mountain goats and moose). Most of the exhibits aren't as impressive as the Melbourne zoo, but I guess it's got to be hard to simulate the habitats of many species when it's freezing and snowing much of the year!

Other than the zoo trip, things have been pretty quiet over the last couple of weeks. I'm just busy working so that I can afford my upcoming trips. I have also applied for a Canadian credit card, as I've been still using my Aussie one to book flights and I'm finding the foreign currency transaction fees to be a little excessive. I'm also hoping to buy a laptop some time soon, as I am currently just borrowing an old one and I'm craving one of my own!
It's Canada Day on Tuesday so I'm looking forward to that (even though I don't really have any plans). There's always a breakfast on somewhere, much like the Australia Day breakfasts back home.
