Well, last night was probably the worst night we've experienced so far. We slept at a campground in the Valley of Fire. The dessert is supposed to cool down at night, but something must have been wrong with this dessert. It did not cool down, and we spent a wrestles night in puddles of sweat. Eww, not a nice experience. At least we got an early start to the day. We were all awake, so we figured we should get up and head for Hoover Dam.

Hoover Dam was very large, especially because it is the world’s largest dam.  We decided not to take and actual tour inside the dam due to the price. Instead we went to the Hoover Dam Museum, which was pretty interesting. By afternoon, it was really hot, and crowded, so it was a good thing that we had gotten there as early as we did.

We spent the night in another dessert: Death Valley. Fortunately this one behaved like a normal dessert and cooled down in the evening.  It was pretty hilarious. When we got there, we were pretty much the only people in this camp ground in the middle of the dessert. The only other people were these two other guys who were at the two opposite ends of the camp ground. It was really quiet and  when we stepped out of the car, we found ourselves surrounded by jack rabbits with humongous ears. It seemed like everywhere you walked one would pop out from behind a bush. After the pop up was set up, the boys climbed up one of the surrounding hills and built a monument. I was feeling kind of bored being so far away from civilization and all, so I decided to climb up the hill and see the boy’s monument.  All I can say is I had a very hard time getting back down! It was very gravely and I kept slipping. We slept well that night.  ~Amber
