Nosara seems to be at once both an empty non-town and a beach teeming with people from the US. They are in the beach, in the stores, and in the hotels and resturants. It seems odd that everyone expects everyone else to speak english, including the few locals working in the stores.

My new phrase book seems to be powerless here.

The beach is indeed beautiful, but this place is creepy enough to move on after one night.
