I drove down the parkway the next am after shower and laundry. Great roads if you are doing a motorbike trip. Not pedal bike because there is no shoulders on the cliffs. It follws the historical Appalachian Trail a 2000 mile hike from Georgia to Maine and then another 650 mile to Gaspe Peninsula Quebec. Tons of people take 3 months to do it all.
Drove down 130 past Jelly stone camping park (Yogi). Area is packed with canoeing down James River and Wax Museaums and natural Bridges. Some more hiking to view points and then to Whyteville, VA. Nicest town with the coolest people. My brief stop and visit turned in to a couple beers with a strwaberry blond and then to the live bluegrass festival in the middle of town. I left at sunset and caught the moon rise as I drove down the beautiful Blue Mountain Parkway. I am just on my way to Chimney Rock Park where they filmed Last of The Mohicans and then Cherokee, North Carolina near the Great Smokey Park for an evening drama of the Cherokee Indians. + 85 today.
