I had to set the alarm to be up in time for arrival today. The weather is unbelievably mild with today's forecast for a high of 78 degrees. Could we have possibly brought this weather with us from Florida? It is just too cool. Whoops, not cool, too ideal. It turned out to be a cloudless day as well.
I think just about everyone gets a small lump in their throats when viewing the Statue of Liberty. We were treated to some good views of it during arrival.
We birthed just to the left of the carrier Intrepid, a veteran of WW-2 and Korea, now a museum with lots of additional Navy aircraft on display as well as one of the early, now decommissioned, cruise missle submarines, moored alongside. The sub is the Growler.
