Where I stayed
Hi,
Today we woke up at around 9 AM. We stayed in the room for a lot of the morning, and then at around 11 AM, we left to go do some shopping. By many people that I know that have come to Hong Kong, I've been told there is a lot of smog. There is. At first I thought it was haze or fog or something, but after a few locals told me it wasn’t, I was in awe... You can literally see smog on the ground in front of you. You can’t see the tops of most tall buildings, it is pretty nasty. It is a really cool city, but I wouldn’t really want to live there…
We caught a taxi at our hotel and went to Sha Tin mall. It was only a 5 minute drive. When we got there, we looked around for a while and then went to eat lunch at a McDonalds. We don’t necessarily like eating McDonalds all the time, but in some places, it’s the only thing that is consistently the same. I do like trying new things, but at the same time I do like to know what to expect.
After we left the giant mall, we took another taxi to some Hong Kong markets. I was really excited to see these because I heard it was very cheap in Hong Kong. Well, once we got there, it took me 2 minutes to find out I was wrong. Although you can buy things for a couple bucks on eBay from Hong Kong, at the markets, a place with mostly fake things, so you’d think it would be cheap, isn’t. I wanted a belt, so I enquired. It was USD $30 for a fake Calvin Klein belt, that’s what they are in Canada, for real ones! Although most things were expensive, it was a really cool experience and we did get a few things. There were thousands of people there.
When we came to Hong Kong, my dad and I were talking about a business idea. As you probably know, a lot of people have IPhone’s. Well, while we were at the markets, it didn’t take long for us to find our place. We enquired about buying 100 IPhone cases, and once we got a decently low price, went for it. My mom and sister sat for half an hour while my dad and I picked out many cases. If you need an IPhone case, I have plenty! There is a huge demand for them in Canada and most people don’t go on eBay to buy them, so I can sell them for cheaper than the stores, because I actually got mine from China.
We returned to our hotel at 9 PM, with a few bags full of cases. Soon after getting back, we went to bed. Thanks for reading.
