Okay, after a very long train trip, i've arrived at Koh Tao. A tiny but beautiful island in the gulf of thailand. Luckily i had two cute german chicks to keep me company on the first 11 hours it took to get back to bankok. the train ride to chumphon took 8 hours, and the boat ride here took 3, so i'm still pretty tired. Its raining at the moment, so no diving or scoobaing.
My beach hut is about... 3 meters from the beach, and i'm set to begin scooba training tomorow.
Wont be updating too much from now on. internet is slow here and kinda expensive.
Oh, on a totally unrelated note, i have just had the yummiest drink ever. a coconut shake. unbelieveably yummy.
Looks like the rain has stopped. i'm of for a walk. enjoy your cold wet ireland folks ;-)

Update:
First off: scooba diving is the coolest thing ever. soo much fun. after hours of theory training, we finally pack up some air tanks, and a load of equipment and head for the diving area. after jumping into the water and swimming to the training point, the trainer tells us to mask up and submerge. so i expect to see a sandy floor a few meters lower. sure, i see that, but also a highway of fist sized colourful fishies swimming around us like we were in the middle of a fish highway. us by the way was me, the trainer hendrik a cute english chick lizzie (who kinda sounds like gary impersonating an english chick) and adrian a swiss guy on a 6 month trip. anyway, i cant begin to describe the colours and amount of fish we saw. there was this cool ball of tiny fish, that u could acually touch if u moved slow enough.
the water here is soo clear and warm, its awesome. looking forward to dive deeper tomorow. thats all for today dudes. time for some cocktails on the beach...

Update: Fun in the sun
Still here on Koh Tao, and for anyone who wishes i would shut up about how cool scuba diving is... keep wishing. its the best. have my test this evening to see if i quailfy:
Question 12: Alcohol increases your ability to dive... False? D'oh!
Anyway, i was planning on moving onto Ko Pha-Nang the day after tomorow, but its soo nice here (as peter predicted) i've decided to stay a while longer here and go straight to ko Samui. well, thats the plan, hopefully Candy (my super travel planner back in bankok) can make it happen.
back to how cool scuba is. was followed around by a herd of zebra fishes yesterday, circles by a school of baracudas and saw a whole load of other multi coloured creatures i have to make up names for. oh and a moray eel. he was pretty shy though.
anyway, i'm gonna go liw in the sun / revise for my scuba exam.
till then:
Just keep swimming...

Keep on swimming....
Hey traveler,

Greetings from sunny Austria (not as warm as Thailand but warmer than Ireland at least). Could you bring some of this coconut stuff?? You know I'm mad about such drinks.
Take care in the water and remember: Not all sharks are vegeterians ;-)

Hey Duuuude...
Just like Silvi I was also thinking of Nemo when I read about you being stuck in a 'fishie' highway. If you meet a great deal of turtles you're probably on the way to Sidney.

You think it's raining in Europe? We got the sunniest autumn ever, den wärmsten Oktober seit Beginn der Wetteraufzeichnung - whatever that is in English. I'm gonna ask my walking dictionary when he returns from thailand ;) But hey, I am totally jealous! At least Franz Ferdinand keeps my company...

It's always better on holiday,
so much better on holiday,
that's why we only work when
we neeeeeed the money!

Smell you later, Apple

Bray Weather
It has rained for 3 days nonstop. Wind is storm force so we don't even go out. Enjoy the beach!
