Our next activities were Paragliding and White water rafting, along with some canopying while we waited around between them. Canopying (for those that don't know what it is, like us when we agreed to do it) is messing about between trees. You put on a harness, climb up cargo nets, go from tree to tree with zip lines, etc. It was short and fun, but the safety procedures made it just a touch dull.
The paragliding was cool. You drive up this dodgy dirt track in the back of this jeep. Watch as the dude sets up the paraglider, get strapped to him, then you get to run and jump of the tip of the mountain. Once your in the air its really quiet. You can chat or you could if you sopke portugese or the pilot guy spoke english or just sit back and enjoy gliding over the trees. Then you look out for birds riding updrafts, and circle the way they do to gain alitude.

Another funny note for those of you that have seen Armageddon, the pilot guy looked rather like that crazy cosmonaut. Well, Ed didn't think so, but say he did, and as we have no photos, your just gonna have to trust me.

The white water rafting was totally sweet too. Its invaluable having Dany along for this kind of thing. As i said, we were far from the usual touristy locations, so our raft captain guy didn't speak any English, but Dany translated all the important stuff 'this next waterfall is a grade 4 so try to hold on and prepare to get soaked'.
The guy with us really knew how to make it fun. It could have been oh so boring, but before we set out we had to make up a cheer before we go over a waterfall. Ours was 'One Two Three MACACU' followed by lots of cheering and splashing eachother with the paddles. Oh, macacu is Portugese for Monkey.

Another fun thing was to put someone (ed) up on front of the boat then paddle straight into a waterfall, soaking her and flooding the frong of the boat.

Anyways, on to the next day, where we stayed at a farm house to see how self sufficient people live out in the country.
