An excerpt from Jimmy's Travelpod because I am Lazy!

"We left Tokyo this morning and headed to Iwai, a sleepy beach town on the Boso Penninsula. We were successfull in dragging Bryan and Noriko with us and they have reserved a hotel room for themselves which we cannot afford. Bryan offered his own money to get us in the room but we can't take his money. I stretched out my Achilles this morning and taped it up. It held up to the walking and the mobile home treatment (our less-than-light packs).

In Iwai, we found a quaint restaurant which was just a woman in her kitchen and a bar with stools pulled up. We sat down and never ordered. She just kind of cooked some food and gave it to us. She made a tasty fish. When she learned (quickly) that we were from America and, indeed, California, she announced that she would give us souvenirs. She then brought out two kimonos, one each for Neil and myself. Wow.

Bryan and Noriko allowed us to keep our packs in their room. At the end of the night, we grabbed our sleeping bags and our night gear and headed for the beach. At the beach, we found a concrete tower that looked like either a medieval fortress outpost, a mast-head, or a lifeguard tower. We climbed up and made camp in the tower, closing off the ladder-hole with a beach board. It wasn't the most comfortable bed but very secure. It also gave us a great view to wake up to."
