DEPART USA
CX 841 New York>Hong Kong 1010AM / 205PM+1
The Trip begins!
Waking up at 3:30 am was not a lot of fun, but it did allow us plenty of time to get to JFK airport in New York. Our ride to the airport was provided by Pat, who was remarkably similar to the character of the same name from Saturday Night Live. Everyone arrived with plenty of time to check in and relax for a few hours while we waiting for our 15+ hour flight to Hong Kong (which flew north instead of heading west as I originally thought).
The flight was relatively uneventful. There was decent food available and plenty of entertainment options (music, TV shows, movies and video games). I was able to sleep for about an hour.
We did have a minor incident with one of the group members who fainted about 12 hours into the flight (fortunately, it seems to be a fluke occurrence and he is fine).
We landed at Hong Kong airport about a half hour early. Unfortunately there was a lot of fog, and there was not a lot to see from the short, one and a half hour lay over in Hong Kong.
