Got up early today (7.30am!) still pitch black. Got ourselves organised for our big quad bike adventure today. Had a coffee and a feed, and walked into town.

Arrived at the quad bike shop, did the usual paperwork (if you break something, don't sue us!) and jumped into a minivan to take us to the farm where the track is.

No pictures to show you, but it was awesome. Mitchell had a smaller quad bike that was automatic, and Patrick and I had a full size one that had heaps of grunt. Did a bit of a run around on the practice track which was good to get used to the machine, then headed out onto the tracks on the farm. There were loads of water crossings, twists, turns, holes, ice, etc etc to deal with.

Did this for 1.5 hours and could have easily done this all day. It was great fun. Hands were a little cold initially, but by the end they were fine. Feet a bit cold though. Was glad we had their gear on as this kept us dry and largely mud free. Still got a few spatters on the face here and there, but bugger all.

This was thoroughly enjoyable. Mitchell took to it like a fish in water was ended up doing doughnuts in the mud by the end. Me too. Patrick enjoyed it, but not sure he would do it all day if given the opportunity.

Headed back into QT in the minivan, then found a little fish and chip shop where we had lunch. Then walked back to the camp for a nice long hot shower. Mitchell talked me into a sauna, so we did one of those too.

Plan is to catch a movie this afternoon rather than do another wallet busting activity.
