We took a day trip from Rothenburg to Nurnburg. Very nice city, but the most interesting was going to the Nazi Museum. Nurnberg was the site of the huge Nazi rallies and Hitler intended it to be the "new Rome" along with Berlin. The museum was a modern bit of architecture built right into the ruins of what was to be the Nazi parliament. We also headed to the big parade grounds and stood on the spot where Hitler stood to address the maniacal crowds. The parade grounds are now soccer fields.

We are the "old folks" from the train, thanks for the photo on your web site.
We also loved Nurenburg. The Congress Hall and museum were powerful. The power the Nazi's gained was frightening and felt very real.
