The Ferry pulled in and all you could see were beautiful green trees, crystal blue water and old style white houses with terracotta roofs. When we jumped off the Ferry we were greeted by people with rooms for rent, Peter had colour pictureprintout of his house and where it was located so we went and had a look. It was great, our own nice room in a 500 year old newly renovated house with a fridge and everything. They've been great hosts.
We then went down the road and had some fantastic food from a little restaurant (around $40 for a seafood dinner inc wine!)and then explored the town. We are actually living in the old townwhere there are loads of shops and old buildings, at night it's very romantic with little lights everywhere
The next day we hired a scooter. I've always wanted to hire a scooter and ride around Italy, but Italian drivers are crazy and the roads are fairly packed, so instead we did it on the Island of Korcula. We must have ridden over 8 hours and covered 300kms - boy was our bums sore! Korcula has an amazing variety of landscapes from ridding up stepp rocky hills to going into vineyard full valleys and of course, the crystal clear waters which are divine to swim in. We stoped at a little family run cafe in the hills and had some traditional food, it was fantastic. They made this Creme Carmel style tart but with Orange Rind - YUM. BTW It turns out I'm great on a scooter, it makes me feel like a motor bike rider zooming in and out of the corners...Mikelis has unfortunately lost a few more hairs!!
Anyway today we are going to the beach and lazing around, tommorow morning it's off to Dubrovnik for one night and then we fly to Budapest.
