Well, I am in Thailand right now, but I do want to share a little more about my last few stops in Cambodia.

I had the chance to spend a few days in and around Siem Reap, Cambodia, and it was incredible.  Siem Reap serves as base camp to the surrounding Angkorian Temples, a marvel of human feat and design. As such, I didn't really spend a whole lot of time around town (not something I regret - see pictures).

Angkor Wat is the largest of dozens of temples in the surrounding area. Built in the 12th century for King Suryavarman II, it still stands strong, and it quite impressive. It took me about an hour just to walk from one side of the complex to the other.

I spent the rest of the day touring around, checking out a few of the other temples.  Your imagination can really run wild in these places.  While there are rightly tourists everywhere, it is not uncommon to find yourself in a secluded section of a temple where you can just sit and ponder the world. Time will just drift by, until you are suddenly snapped back to reality by the footsteps of another visitor.

I returned to my guesthouse sweaty and tired, but with a renewed sense of calm.

That was a good thing, as the trip to Bangkok would be one to remember....
