Today we went on a tour of the very impressive art nouveau buildings around Riga and then for a tour of the old town. It is incredible that so much of this city, as with Tallinn, has survived given the bombings during the war. 

It was a day of highlights for Mike today - included seeing the last 10 minutes of Collingwood beating West Coast Eagles (thanks to the Kiwi Bar in the old town) and then having shashliks for lunch. We have craved shashliks ever since we were in Russia four years ago.
